Residents from Runwood Homes and Sanders Senior Living came together at St Mary’s Church for another wonderful Homes in Harmony concert, bringing people together through music, movement and community.
The gathering, which took place during Art in Care Homes Month, was the second Homes in Harmony event held this year, giving Runwood Homes residents another opportunity to enjoy an afternoon filled with singing, dancing and entertainment alongside fellow residents, staff, families and members of the local community.
The event was attended by Mayor Cllr Kate Knott and her Consort, Cllr John Knott, as well as lifestyle coordinators, carers and family members who joined residents for the celebration.
Guests enjoyed a fantastic performance from Sarah Dodsworth, with residents enthusiastically joining in with the singing, dancing and movement. The performance created a lively atmosphere, with everyone encouraged to participate and enjoy the music in their own way.
There was also plenty of fun away from the music, with Jack from Bennett Lodge organising a series of quizzes, including musical general knowledge rounds. The quizzes proved particularly popular with residents, creating plenty of laughter and friendly competition.
The event was supported by Cathy Ranson from Stafford Hall, who warmly welcomed everyone to St Mary’s Church, while Cathy Sahadevan from The Grange did a wonderful job leading the Homes in Harmony concert.
The gathering highlighted the important role music can play in bringing people together. Singing, dancing and movement provided residents with an opportunity to participate freely, enjoy themselves and connect with others in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
The concert was a memorable celebration of music, creativity and community, with residents, families, staff and guests all sharing in the joy of the occasion.
Following the success of the latest gathering, residents are already looking forward to the next Homes in Harmony event and another opportunity to come together through music, laughter and connection.
