Blackthorns provided excellent care during our father's stay. The staff were kind, caring and attentive, always professional and looked after dad very well, making sure he was comfortable and accompanied at all times.

Activities range from visits to local attractions using our minibus service and hosting monthly community events to joining the Runwood Ramblers walking group, alongside a wide variety of activities within the home.

At Blackthorns, we follow the guidelines of the British Dietetic Association and the Care Home Digest to ensure residents’ nutritional needs are consistently met. Our freshly prepared meals cater to a wide range of dietary requirements and preferences, bringing residents together in a welcoming, social, and dignified atmosphere where every mealtime is both enjoyable and nourishing.

My name is Flavia, and I am the Home Manager at Blackthorns Care Home. I joined Runwood Homes in 2012 as a care assistant. I have achieved an NVQ level 5 in management, along with courses in management and leadership. I am efficient, knowledgeable and well organised. I hope you feel free to visit our lovely home and look forward to welcoming you!
