Residents from Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed a wonderful day out at Leigh-on-Sea.
On Sunday 29th June, residents boarded one of the Runwood Homes minibuses and headed to Old Leigh, where they tucked into freshly prepared seafood, took a relaxing stroll along the promenade, and watched the boats drift by.
The atmosphere was cheerful and light-hearted, with plenty of smiles and laughter as residents sampled local seafood, including cockles and mussels — a first for some!
Resident Suzy summed up the experience beautifully: ‘’I have had such a nice day out, it was refreshing seeing the beach and sea, and the food was delicious, proper seafood!’’
It was a day full of simple pleasures: fresh sea air, bobbing boats, tasty food, and good company. Days like these remind us that sometimes the best memories are made from the simplest moments, enjoyed together.
