The Mayor of Waltham Abbey, Shane Yerrell, attended Tallis House care home on the 15th of August to mark a very special 70th birthday milestone for John Vintinner.
The day was celebrated with the team, residents, and the community of Waltham Abbey, providing a variety of refreshments and food throughout the day.
John has no known next of kin to celebrate his birthday, so the care home team wanted to make the day extra special, with a celebration in the home, and a visit from the mayor.
During their visit, Shane personally congratulated everyone on their continuous hard work and dedication to providing high quality care at Tallis House.
Mayor of Waltham Abbey, Shane Yerrell, said: “It was a privilege to meet John and be part of the celebrations on his special birthday. It was nice to spend time chatting to the residents, who all joined in to sing happy birthday to John. The staff at Tallis House gave me a warm, welcoming tour of the home. It is a truly wonderful home and hopefully I will get the opportunity to go back for another visit.”
Georgina Braithewaite, Home Manager at Tallis House, said: “We are so pleased the Mayor of Waltham Abbey was able to join us for John’s special day. John is a real character in the home, but sadly does not have any Next of Kin to celebrate this occasion with him. The Mayor’s Visit really lifted his spirits and made for a very special day.”
