Tallis House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, collaborated with other care homes across Essex in a heartwarming and invigorating challenge. Together, the Runwood Homes group aimed to cover as many miles as possible, whether by walking or using vehicles, to promote fitness, camaraderie, and community spirit among our residents and staff.
On the 13th of May, Tallis House, located in Waltham Abbey, had the immense pleasure of welcoming residents and their Lifestyle Coaches from Lambwood Heights Care Home in Chigwell. Our guests were greeted with open arms and a delightful array of treats, including cupcakes, jam tarts, sweet pastries, chocolates, and a selection of hot and cold drinks. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter as residents from both care homes bonded over shared stories and experiences.
Our residents at Tallis House were overjoyed by the visit and eagerly look forward to future gatherings. In a gesture of reciprocal friendship, Lambwood Heights has kindly extended an invitation to our residents for a visit to their care home soon.
Before the day concluded, residents from both care homes enjoyed a serene walk together through our beautiful garden grounds, adding meaningful miles to our collective challenge.
The mile-long walk didn’t stop there. The following day, our dedicated residents and staff at Tallis House continued to log more miles around our area, contributing further to our ambitious goal.
This initiative not only emphasises physical activity but also fosters a sense of unity and friendship among care home communities in Essex. We are incredibly proud of our residents and staff for their commitment, and we are excited about the positive impact of this challenge.
