On Sunday 10th November, Braywood Gardens care home in Nottingham, part of the Runwood Homes Group, paid heartfelt tribute this Remembrance Day, hosting a commemoration within the home over the weekend. Among the honoured attendees was resident Tom, who wore his medals proudly and reflected on the memory of those who lost their lives during his service for the country.
Dressed in his best suit, Tom joined fellow residents and staff members in a two-minute silence to honour fallen heroes. Sharing stories of his service, Tom brought to life the courage and camaraderie of his time in the military, fostering a moving atmosphere of remembrance and respect throughout Braywood Gardens
Jeffrey Ford, Senior Home Manager at Braywood Gardens, spoke warmly of Tom’s involvement, saying, “It’s an absolute pleasure to see Tom displaying his medals and hearing his stories of his experiences at war. We feel privileged to have him as part of our home and to support him in showing his respect for those that were sadly lost.”
The commemorative day at Braywood Gardens not only honoured the fallen but also allowed residents and staff to unite in reflection, creating a meaningful experience for all who took part. Runwood Homes Group remains dedicated to recognising and supporting its veterans, creating moments like these that bring comfort, pride, and gratitude to its community members.
