Westwood care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, recently brought the community together through a meaningful and generous act of kindness. On 11th October 2024, a group of residents visited the local Worksop food bank to donate much-needed food supplies to those in need.
The residents, accompanied by their Lifestyle Coordinators, Natasha and Chloe, enjoyed a pleasant walk to the food bank, where they proudly delivered the donations collected by the care home. The gesture was not just about giving food but also about fostering a sense of community and helping those who are struggling in the local area.
The visit to the food bank was part of an ongoing effort at Westwood Care Home to engage residents in community activities that bring joy and make a positive impact. It was a heart-warming experience for everyone involved, showing that kindness knows no age and that even the smallest gesture can make a big difference.
Natasha and Chloe, Lifestyle Coordinators at Westwood Care Home, reflected on the importance of this activity:
“It was wonderful to see our residents so enthusiastic about giving back to the community. The walk to the food bank was a lovely way to get outside and engage with the local area. We’re so proud of everyone who contributed and participated in this generous act.”
The food bank donation is just one of many ways Westwood Care Home continues to foster a sense of connection and goodwill within the community. It’s a testament to the home’s dedication to supporting not only its residents but also the wider community they belong to.
This event highlights how meaningful community involvement can enhance the lives of both residents and those they help. Westwood Care Home looks forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the community in the future.
