Westwood Care Home, part of Runwood Homes Group, was filled with the comforting aroma of homemade pies as residents and families came together for their monthly Pie Night.
The event was organised as part of the care home’s ongoing commitment to building community and enhancing the well-being of residents.
“Our residents and their families look forward to these events every month. It’s a moment where they can connect by sharing stories and enjoying delicious food together.” Said Natasha, Lifestyle Coordinator at Westwood Care Home.
John, a resident at Westwood, and his wife Jennifer, who regularly visits, shared: “We both look forward to spending these events together.”
The evening featured homemade pies prepared by the home’s talented chef, Glenn, followed by a variety of delicious puddings.
This monthly tradition is born out of a collaborative effort where residents and staff jointly choose a new theme each month, ensuring everyone has a voice in shaping the home’s social calendar.
“These events are so important,” said Chloe, Lifestyle Coordinator at Westwood. “They bring joy, encourage social engagement, and create lasting memories for everyone involved.”
The atmosphere throughout the evening was described as Simply Wonderful.
