Residents, family members and staff at Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on Wednesday 18th June to celebrate International Picnic Day with a delightful indoor picnic party, complete with cakes, refreshments, cheerful decorations, and music.
With the warm summer temperatures outside, the Chelmunds Court team brought the picnic indoors, transforming the lounge into a vibrant space filled with laughter and community spirit. The event was designed to offer all the joy of a traditional picnic in a safe and comfortable setting.
Resident Norma shared, “It was nice to see everyone and was refreshing to be out with the others with lovely music and food.”
The atmosphere was warm, light-hearted, and filled with the sound of conversation and music as residents, families, and staff mingled and celebrated together. From colourful table settings to sweet treats and summery tunes, every detail was planned to create a joyful experience.
The highlight of the day was the way everyone came together, despite the heat, to enjoy each other’s company and make memories.
