Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly hosted a heartwarming Macmillan Coffee Morning, bringing together residents, staff, and members of the local community for a day filled with sweet treats, conversation, and charitable giving.
Kera Budge, Lifestyle Coordinator at Chelmunds Court, shared her thoughts on the day:
“It’s so important to bring people together for a good cause. Everyone had a lovely time chatting, laughing, and enjoying the delicious cakes on offer—all while raising money for something meaningful.”
The lounge was beautifully decorated to welcome guests, with a variety of cakes and hot drinks available. Lively conversations filled the room as attendees enjoyed background music and each other’s company. The event successfully raised £109.80 through cake sales, with all proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Residents and visitors alike expressed how much they enjoyed the opportunity to socialise and be part of a wider community event. One standout moment of the day was seeing the local community genuinely connect with residents—bringing smiles, laughter, and new friendships.
“We hold a Macmillan Day every year,” Kera added, “It’s a chance to give back, raise money, and treat everyone to something special. This year was no exception—the room was full of laughter and joy.”
Chelmunds Court looks forward to continuing its annual tradition and further strengthening the bonds between its residents and the wider community.
