Rose House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was delighted to welcome the Animal Ark Travelling Zoo for a heartwarming day of smiles, cuddles, and connection. Residents enjoyed hands-on experiences with a variety of animals in a unique event designed to promote emotional wellbeing through gentle animal interaction.
The visit offered more than just excitement, it provided meaningful therapeutic benefits. Many residents found comfort in holding and stroking the animals, while others enjoyed learning new facts and sharing stories sparked by memories. The power of animal therapy was on full display, helping to ease stress, lift moods, and foster deep moments of connection.
Sharon, Lifestyle Co-Ordinator Support, shared:
“What a truly special day we’ve had! The visit from Animal Ark brought so much joy, laughter, and comfort to our residents. Watching everyone interact with the animals—stroking soft fur, holding gentle creatures, and sharing stories—was a beautiful reminder of the healing power of nature and connection.”
