Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly hosted its first Christmas Market on 5th December 2025, transforming the reception area and café into a bustling festive hub for residents, families, and the wider community. The event marked the beginning of the Christmas season with joy, creativity, and community spirit.
The market featured a variety of festive stalls, including arts and crafts, knick-knacks, refreshments, a tombola, and a raffle. Residents enjoyed browsing the stalls, sampling treats, and joining in with the activities. Special seasonal guests, Father Christmas and the Gingerbread Twins, added extra magic to the afternoon.
A family member, Maxine, shared her delight, describing the market as “absolutely brilliant and filled with festive cheer.”
Staff, residents, relatives, and local supporters all contributed to the success of the event. The market not only offered a fun and welcoming Christmas experience but also helped raise valuable funds for residents’ amenities.
The idea for the Christmas Market was inspired by the home’s successful Summer Fete, with the team eager to recreate that sense of unity, this time with a festive twist.
The atmosphere was described as warm, lively, and joyful, filled with Christmas music, laughter, and the aroma of seasonal treats. The standout moment of the day was seeing the café and reception buzzing with people from the local community, all coming together to show their support.
Chelmunds Court looks forward to making the Christmas Market an annual tradition, continuing to bring residents and the community together in celebration and festive spirit.
