Classic Car Show Brings Community Together at Low Furlong Care Home

Residents at Low Furlong Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a nostalgic afternoon as the home hosted a Classic Car Show on 26 July, welcoming around 20 classic vehicles for residents, families and the local community to admire.

Guests enjoyed ice cream, refreshments and a bar while exploring the impressive collection of vehicles. The event also welcomed Shipston First Responders and local PCSOs, who came along to support the day.

Organised to bring the community into the home and give residents the chance to reminisce, the event sparked plenty of conversations as residents shared memories of cars they had owned or remembered from years gone by.

Clare Smith, Lifestyle Coordinator at Low Furlong Care Home, said: “It was a fantastic afternoon. It was lovely to see so many classic cars and so many people from the local community joining us. Residents really enjoyed looking at the cars and chatting to their owners.”

The day was a great success, creating new connections, encouraging reminiscence, and giving residents a wonderful opportunity to enjoy time with their families and the wider community.
