Longview Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, welcomed in the New Year with a lively and heartwarming party for residents and their loved ones, held on 30 December to ensure everyone could enjoy live entertainment together.
The lounge was transformed with festive New Year’s Eve decorations as residents, families, and staff gathered to celebrate. Entertainment was provided by popular singer Gazza, who kept the room buzzing with music, singing, and dancing throughout the afternoon. Guests enjoyed prosecco and beers, joined in with karaoke, and spent quality time celebrating together.
Residents thoroughly enjoyed the event, with many commenting on the vibrant atmosphere. Hazel, a resident, shared:
“What a fantastic atmosphere, the singer was great and it was nice to have a drink and dance with friends.”
The atmosphere throughout the celebration was fun, energetic, and full of joy, with everyone encouraged to join in. A particularly touching highlight came at the end of the event when Gazza sang Auld Lang Syne. Residents joined hands and sang along together, creating an emotional and unforgettable moment that left many with teary eyes.
