Residents from Caldwell Grange care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, and The Lodge embraced the spring sunshine with a delightful outing, enjoying fresh air, gentle exercise, and meaningful social time together.
On 17 March 2026, residents were supported by the wellbeing team on a relaxed walk to a local café. There, they enjoyed hot drinks, including hot chocolate, along with a selection of cakes to share. The outing provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect, unwind, and enjoy a change of scenery before taking a steady walk back in time for lunch.
The atmosphere throughout the day was described as happy and uplifting, filled with laughter, smiles, and relaxed conversation. Highlights included sharing cakes at the café, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying each other’s company during the walk.
Residents spoke warmly about the experience, with one sharing how lovely it was to “feel the sun on her back” and how it was just what she needed. Another resident commented on how much she enjoyed the walk and expressed her wish to do it again.
Residents from both Caldwell Grange and The Lodge took part in the outing, supported by the dedicated wellbeing team, who ensured everyone felt comfortable and included.
