Residents and staff at Frank Foster House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, proudly came together to support Dementia Action Week by wearing blue and taking part in activities designed to raise awareness and promote understanding of dementia within the community.
The initiative saw everyone across the home unite in support of those living with dementia, while also highlighting the importance of compassionate, person-led care. Staff also received valuable training and guidance from Dementia Champions as part of the awareness activities.
Nicolas said: “Dementia Action Week is an important opportunity for us to raise awareness, show compassion and support those living with dementia. At Frank Foster House, we are committed to creating a safe, understanding and person-centred environment where every resident feels valued and respected. I am proud of our staff and residents for coming together and wearing blue to support this meaningful cause.”
The day served as an opportunity to encourage open conversations around dementia and reinforce the home’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents living with the condition. By taking part in Dementia Action Week, residents and staff demonstrated solidarity, kindness and community spirit.
A spokesperson from Frank Foster House added: “Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day meaningful and special.”
At Frank Foster House, supporting residents living with dementia remains a key priority, with regular training, activities and awareness initiatives helping to create a caring and inclusive environment for all.
