Residents from Park View Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a fantastic day out at Witham Leisure Centre as they joined a special Sporting Memories event alongside members of the local community, Essex Therapy Dogs, and the Mayor of Witham.
Five residents accompanied by Lifestyle Coordinator Diane attended the open day on 12 June 2026, where they took part in games, social activities, and conversations designed to bring people together through a shared love of sport and community.
The event was organised as part of the Sporting Memories programme, which Park View residents regularly attend every Tuesday afternoon. Following their ongoing involvement, residents were invited to participate in the larger community open day.
The atmosphere throughout the event was lively and welcoming, with residents thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to meet new people and strengthen connections within the local community.
Speaking about the day, resident Pam said: “It was nice to sit down and chat with the Mayor of Witham.” Fellow resident Jessie added: “I loved seeing the therapy dogs.”
The visit reflects Park View’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents’ wellbeing through community engagement, social interaction, and enriching experiences beyond the home.
