Residents, families and staff at Laureate Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a day of festive fun and community spirit during a Christmas in July Fair held on Friday 24th July 2026.
The care home was transformed for the occasion, with festive stalls, refreshments and live entertainment from Liam Battersby, creating a joyful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. A memorable highlight of the day was a visit from Maxine from the Rotherham Titans, who arrived dressed as one of Santa’s elves, bringing plenty of smiles, laughter and festive cheer.
Residents, relatives and staff came together to celebrate in the summer sunshine, with family members commenting on how unusual yet incredibly enjoyable it was to celebrate Christmas in the middle of July. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to socialise, make memories and enjoy quality time together.
The idea for the celebration came from Home Manager Lisa Facer, whose love of Christmas inspired the team to embrace the popular Christmas in July tradition.
