The team at Alexandra House care home, in Harlow, Essex, have embraced the celebrations, following the positive news on their recent CQC inspection.
The team were overjoyed to receive their improved rating, which saw the service step up from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ in all key areas, following their most recent inspection from the Care Quality Commission.
The CQC report published in July, following an inspection during the month of June 2023, found: “Care plans contained information about people’s previous lifestyles, interests, beliefs, religion, diverse backgrounds, and people who were important to them. This helped to ensure staff accommodated people’s wishes and needs when providing support.”
Observations from the glowing CQC report also noted that the home has: “A ‘resident of the day’ system in place which ensured risk assessments were completed, regularly reviewed, and provided guidance to staff on how to support people to stay safe.”
Mirela Taban, Home Manager for Alexandra House, and her wider team have worked exceptionally hard to put strategies and processes in place to improve the service. The team were delighted to see the hard work from everyone in the home reflected in their new official rating.
Mirela said: “We have all worked so hard over the last few years at Alexandra House and we are thrilled to have achieved a positive GOOD rating with CQC in all key areas. I believe that resident, relative and staff involvement in the daily operations has really contributed to our success.

Alexandra House Care Home is a residential care, dementia care and nursing care home in Harlow, in Essex.
