In a heartwarming display of community spirit, ten of Runwood Homes care homes came together on 14th February for a special Valentines Day initiative. Residents and staff from Waterfield House, Laureate Court, Windmill House, Highview Lodge, Oldfield House, Lancaster Court, Tallis House, Loganberry Lodge, Crowstone House, Leawood Manor, joined forces to spread love and kindness throughout the local community.
The initiative, driven by the belief in the importance of fostering strong ties with the community, saw residents and staff hand-delivering Valentines day cards, chocolates, and flowers to neighbours in the surrounding areas. This thoughtful gesture aimed to bring joy to individuals and families while creating opportunities for residents to engage with new faces and build meaningful connections.
Leanne Simms, Customer Relations Manager at Laureate Court, expressed her delight with the initiative, stating, “It was a day filled with love and laughter. Our team at Laureate Court was dedicated to making each and every one of our residents feel special with a card and a rose, hand-delivered to them. The smiles on their faces were priceless, and the sense of community warmth was palpable.”
Leeanne Craddock from Oldfield House echoed the sentiment, saying, “Residents and staff at Oldfield House loved going into our community, delivering Valentines gifts and putting smiles on people’s faces. Meaningful, inclusive community engagement is so important to us, and events like these strengthen the bonds that make our local area a true community.”
