Westwood care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, recently hosted a vibrant Spanish Night, infusing the spirit of Spain with lively music, delicious tapas, and refreshing sangria, as part of their “Come Fly with Me” month-long celebration.
The event took place on the 28th of June in the activities room of Westwood, bringing together residents, family members, and staff for an evening filled with cultural exploration and festive cheer. Guests indulged in traditional Spanish delicacies such as tapas and enjoyed a selection of drinks, including sangria, wine, and spirits.
Activities included dancing to flamenco beats, singing along to Spanish tunes, and engaging in traditional games like breaking a pinata, which added to the lively atmosphere of the night.
Natasha and Chloe, Wellbeing Leads at Westwood, expressed their enthusiasm for organising such events that bring joy and cultural richness to the residents’ lives. “It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves and experiencing a taste of Spain right here at Westwood,” remarked Natasha. “These events are important as they allow us to explore different cultures, reminisce about holidays, and create memorable moments together,” added Chloe.
The Spanish Night not only provided residents with an opportunity to enjoy a themed evening but also fostered a sense of community and shared enjoyment among all participants.
