Residents from Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed two unforgettable day trips to Papermill Lock and Baddowhill Alpacas Farm. Taking place on the Wednesday 17th and Saturday 26th June, the outings combined beautiful views, delicious treats, and close-up experiences with friendly animals.

The group strolled along the peaceful river path, watched the boats go by, and enjoyed the tranquillity of the countryside. A particular highlight for many was the indulgent fresh cream strawberry scones. On the second trip, residents also enjoyed a scenic riverside picnic. Resident Lenny said, “I’ve never been here before; it’s beautiful, and taking a picnic was a lovely idea. We should do it a lot more.”

The visit to Baddowhill Alpacas gave residents the opportunity to meet and feed alpacas and goats, which brought great joy to everyone.

The idea for the trips was inspired by lifestyle coordinator Louise’s previous visit to the lock and a conversation with resident Martin about his boating memories. The aim was to give residents the chance to reconnect with nature, local sights, and the animals they love, all while sharing special moments with family.

The atmosphere throughout both trips was one of joy, relaxation, and community spirit. Rosedale Court remains committed to delivering enriching and meaningful experiences for residents, creating opportunities to explore, engage, and make memories beyond the walls of the home.
