Carolyne House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, staff came together on 20th December for a festive and culturally enriching Christmas party, featuring a special Miss/Mrs Carolyne House competition that celebrated diversity, teamwork, and staff morale.
The celebration was a fantastic opportunity for staff to learn more about one another and appreciate the wide range of cultures represented within the team.
As part of the competition, staff members each represented their country of origin, wearing traditional or culturally inspired clothing and sharing foods and drinks from around the world. The event was attended by staff members and the Regional Manager, who selected the overall winner. The winning participant received a trophy, tiara, and a £100 prize.
Staff feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with comments highlighting how much they “loved seeing all the different cultures.” The atmosphere was described as educational, joyful, and a true bonding experience for the team.
The idea for the competition was introduced by Home Manager Avi, with the aim of boosting staff morale and encouraging teamwork in a fun and inclusive way. These goals were clearly achieved, as the event brought colleagues together in celebration and mutual respect.
A standout highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winner, Pretti from India, whose participation was warmly celebrated by colleagues.
Carolyne House continues to value and promote inclusivity, recognising that a strong, united team plays a vital role in delivering outstanding care to residents.
