Carolyne House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, was delighted to welcome relatives, friends and members of the local community to a heartwarming Pancake Day event held on 17 February 2026.
The event was organised as part of the home’s ongoing commitment to monthly community engagement and provided a wonderful opportunity for residents to connect with loved ones and neighbours while celebrating the much-loved tradition of Pancake Day.
Residents, relatives, community members and volunteers all came together for the occasion. Guests enjoyed freshly made pancakes, friendly conversation and a welcoming atmosphere filled with laughter and chatter. In addition to selling pancakes to visitors, the team ensured plenty were made for residents to enjoy as well.
The idea for the event was born from a residents’ meeting, reflecting Carolyne House’s commitment to listening to those who live there and involving them in planning meaningful activities.
One of the standout moments of the day was resident Barbara’s enthusiasm as she helped serve pancakes and proudly supported fundraising efforts for the home’s activities fund.
Events like this play an important role in strengthening connections between Carolyne House and the wider community, while celebrating special occasions together in a warm and inclusive environment.
