Residents, families, and staff at Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on 15 March to celebrate Mother’s Day with a special Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea party.

The care home transformed its café into an elegant tea setting inspired by the popular period style, decorating the space with flowers and hanging decorations to create a charming and welcoming atmosphere. Residents and their families enjoyed a relaxing afternoon together with tea, sweet treats, and plenty of conversation.

As part of the celebration, every lady in the home was presented with a flower balloon as a small token of appreciation for Mother’s Day. The thoughtful gesture was warmly received by residents and added an extra touch of joy to the occasion.

Sheila, a resident at Chelmunds Court. shared her thoughts on the celebration, saying:
“It was a wonderful way to interact with the fellow ladies and being appreciated. It was a lovely Mother’s Day tea party.”

Mother’s Day events are held annually at Chelmunds Court as a way to recognise the dedication, love, and sacrifices of mothers, while also creating opportunities for residents, families, and staff to spend meaningful time together.

The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was lively and heartwarming, with residents and families enjoying each other’s company and celebrating the special day together.

One of the standout moments of the event was when the ladies received their flower balloons. Although a simple gesture, residents greatly appreciated the thoughtful gift, which brought smiles to faces across the room.

The event highlighted the strong sense of community at Chelmunds Court and provided a memorable way to honour the mothers and mother figures within the home.
