Residents, staff, families and friends at Rose House care home, part of the Runwood Homes group, enjoyed a heartwarming celebration for National Bee Day on 20 May, bringing the home together for a themed afternoon tea filled with laughter, music and community.
The event saw the home transformed into a hive of happiness as residents and staff embraced the occasion with cheerful bee-themed fancy dress, delicious cakes and plenty of shared smiles. Families and friends also joined the celebrations, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
The celebration was organised not only to mark National Bee Day, but also to promote meaningful moments, social interaction and happiness within the home. Residents particularly enjoyed the playful costumes worn by staff, with laughter and conversation filling the home from start to finish.
One of the highlights of the day was a thoughtful gesture from one of the home’s generous families, who donated special bee keyrings for residents to enjoy.
A resident’s family member added:
“It’s so lovely to see so much fun in the home. A simple thing to dress up and serve cakes in the café, but the smiles it brings are wonderful to see.”
The warm and vibrant atmosphere throughout the celebration made the event truly special, highlighting the strong sense of togetherness and community at Rose House.
