Waterfield House Residents Enjoy Visit to Corncraft Café and Craft Shop

Residents from Waterfield House care home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a delightful outing to Corncraft Café and Craft Shop on 2 June 2026, where they spent the afternoon socialising, sharing ideas, and discussing plans for an upcoming community art exhibition.

The trip brought together residents, staff, a resident ambassador, and a volunteer for a relaxing visit that included coffee, cake, and plenty of conversation in a welcoming environment away from the home.

During the visit, residents discussed the forthcoming art exhibition taking place in August at the People’s Gallery in Southend-on-Sea. The exhibition marks the third year of celebrating arts in care homes and provides an opportunity for residents to showcase their creativity and artistic talents. Residents were encouraged to share their ideas and suggestions for artwork they would like to create for the exhibition.

The outing was inspired by residents themselves, who wanted the opportunity to explore creative ideas while enjoying time together in the local community.

Residents commented on how much they enjoyed getting out of the home and appreciated the opportunity to enjoy coffee and cake in a different setting.

The atmosphere throughout the afternoon was warm and enjoyable, with residents embracing the chance to reminisce, chat, and connect with one another.

The visit reflects Waterfield House’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents’ wellbeing, encouraging creativity, and creating meaningful experiences that bring people together both within the home and the wider community.
