The gentlemen at Chelmunds Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a Father’s Day celebration on Sunday 21 June, with a full day dedicated to recognising, honouring and celebrating the important men who call the home their own.
The special event brought together residents, families and members of the local community for a day filled with appreciation, laughter and live entertainment. Each gentleman was presented with a personalised certificate and commemorative medal, recognising their unique contributions and celebrating their individuality. A portrait photoshoot, complete with a specially created portrait box, gave residents the opportunity to capture treasured keepsake photographs to share with their loved ones.
As the day continued, the atmosphere transformed into a lively celebration with a live singer performing classic 1960s favourites alongside a selection of rock songs specially requested by one of the home’s residents. The personalised music programme reflected Chelmunds Court‘s commitment to delivering meaningful, person-centred experiences that celebrate individual interests and memories.
A Lifestyle Coordinator at Chelmunds Court said:
“Father’s Day can be a deeply sentimental time, and it is vital to ensure our male residents feel uniquely recognised, valued, and celebrated. Providing tangible tokens like medals, certificates, and photos gives them a sense of pride and a lasting memory to share with their families. Furthermore, tailoring the afternoon entertainment to include specific rock requests shows our commitment to person-centred care and honouring individual passions.”
One community member commented:
“It’s so nice to see our gentlemen getting pampered and spoiled as well.”
One of the highlights of the celebration was seeing the pride and joy on the gentlemen’s faces as they received their personalised awards and photographs, creating meaningful memories for both residents and their families.
The Father’s Day celebration reflects Chelmunds Court’s ongoing commitment to providing person-centred care, ensuring every resident feels valued, respected and celebrated through thoughtful experiences that promote wellbeing, connection and happiness.
